Kimberly Mooney, PhD
Columbia University

Dr. Mooney graduated from Montclair University in 1993 (Montclair, NJ) and earned her Ph.D in the education of those with disabilities from Columbia University in 2002 (New York, NY). After two years of post-doctoral training and supervision, Dr. Mooney became a licensed professional counselor and now provides individual and family therapy to hearing, non-hearing and learning disabled clients.

Kimberly recently received additional training in educational diagnosis at Montclair State University and was certified as a Learning Disability Teacher Consultant (LTD-C) by the state of NJ. She is currently the founder and director of Signs of Success. Dr. Mooney has had a broad range of professional experiences that have shaped both her clinical skills as well as her educational diagnostic skills.

Prior to establishing Signs of Success, Kimberly was a teacher of the deaf and hard of hearing, a special services coordinator, a college professor and a counselor. In addition to her PH.D, Kimberly is a certified as an LDT-C, a teacher of the deaf, Elementary School Teacher, Supervisor, and a Licensed Professional Counselor by the State of NJ. Kimberly’s experience as a teacher provides the basis for her understanding of schools and her ability to make recommendations that work in a school.
